VENUE:
The London Rowing Club
The embankment, Putney
There were approximately 80 people at this event. Compared to the last meeting in November 2010, this session was dominated by the demands placed on Wandsworth's local council, i.e. the difficult task to balance their books without losing track of the essential services. The residential (domestic) rates payable in this London borough are still substantially cheaper that its peer boroughs in Greater London.
This is good news for the sole proprietors working from home, our guesstimate is around 15,000....
Olympics Games (2012)
It is not too late to supply goods and services to the London Olympic Games Organising Committee.
Details are in preparation and it is known that the Olympic Tennis competition will be held at the All England Club near Southfields underground station.
Other sporting events - e.g. the marathon - may be run alongs parts of Wandsworth, but no announcements are expected until September 2011.
Wandsworth Business promotion
It is good to see an active partnership between Wandsworth Council's EDU and Wandsworth Chamber of Commerce. We will follow their progress and report any news on this channel.
